COURSE OVERVIEW & KEY BENEFITS

Science shows us that if people understand what motivates them, they can use that information to shape behavior and achieve better outcomes. This training program is designed for those trained in the use of StrengthsFinder. Participants will:

  • learn how to draw out the achievement stories of clients

  • gain certification in the MCORE (Motivational Core) assessment

  • learn how to integrate StrengthsFinder & MCORE in the client’s own stories for effective personal vocation coaching


HOW IT WORKS

LIVE, TRAINER-LED CLASS

Join a program of live classes that emulate a classroom experience and overcome the hurdles often experienced with pre-recorded videos, webinars & quizzes.

 

INTERACTIVE GROUP EXERCISES

Each live class will include an opportunity to take part in group exercises with fellow course participants.

ONE-TO-ONE MENTORSHIP

Take advantage of personal one-to-one time with the course trainer and establish clear steps to improve your coaching.

 

PART ONE:  SIX LIVE VIDEOCONFERENCE SESSIONS (1.5 HOUR EACH)                

  • Session 1: Personal Vocation: Key Paradigm for the Flourishing of your Clients and the Renewal of the Church.

  • Session 2: The Power of the Achievement Story for Cultivating Personal Vocation

  • Session 3: Describing & Demonstrating the MCORE Review Session

  • Session 4: Practice with Achievement Story Interviewing & MCORE

  • Session 5: Integrating Strengths Finder with MCORE: Drawing out the Unique Design of the Person

  • Session 6: Basic Model for Personal Vocation Coaching & Getting Launched         

 

PART TWO:  VOCATION COACH PRACTICE

Trainees will be expected to work with three practice clients using MCORE, StrengthsFinder and basic coaching methodology oriented toward the cultivation of each client’s personal vocation. There will be two consecutive monthly practice & “check up” sessions (1.5 hours each)                 

 

COHORT PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS

  • Go through MCORE assessment and have a review session if he/she has not experienced that already.  

  • Read Unrepeatable: Cultivating the Unique Calling of Every Person by Burgis and Miller

  • Review 9 pre-training webinars (about 8 minutes each)

  • Review the 27 Core Motivations of MCORE

 

TRAINING MATERIALS

  • 10-12 pre-recorded webinars or videos (8 minutes each)

  • Books: Unrepeatable: Cultivating the Unique Calling of Every Person (Luke Burgis & Joshua Miller); Living Your Strengths (Jim Clifton et. al.); The Coach Model for Christian Leaders (Keith Webb)

  • Training Manual including information about the 27 Core Motivations of MCORE

  • Participants will be expected to do reading assignments and some practice coaching prior to most of the Part One training sessions

 

SCHEDULE

  • Part One of the training will begin on Thursday, September 26 from 9am to 10:30 am EST and will be held each consecutive Thursday morning for six weeks at the same time: Sept 26th, October 3, Oct 10, Oct 17, Oct 24, Oct 31.

  • There will be 2 Monthly Practice & Check Up Sessions (Part Two) after Oct 28th. Dates and times to be determined with the cohort

 

Investment

$1,250 FOR THE ENTIRE PROGRAM, $1000 if used exclusively non-profit context.

This includes MCORE Certification, an MCORE Registration link loaded with 10 MCORE Assessments, and a one-year license.  Yearly re-license fee is $250 and comes with five MCORE codes (retail value of $50 each code).

Those using MCORE in an exclusively ministry or non-profit context will receive a $250 discount and be charged $1,000.

ABOUT JOSHUA MILLER

Joshua is a leader in the field of narrative based motivational assessment. For the last 18 years he has applied his expertise in a variety of applications, including executive search, organizational development, and talent management. Since 2010, he has served as a coach helping individuals embrace and effectively leverage their own patterns of unique motivation. He is certified at the ACC level with the International Coach Federation (ICF).

He is a co-developer of MCORE, the first on-line assessment that blends a person’s own achievement stories with established psychometric constructs. He is the Chief Education Officer of Pruvio and in that capacity regularly offers MCORE Training and Certification workshops.

His long standing desire to understand and help people develop their unique giftedness led to an MA & Ph.D. in Philosophy of the Human Person. He continues to effectively integrate learning from this study into his coaching and consulting practices.

He has a wide roster of clients, but specializes in serving the faith based and non-profit sectors. Joshua has deep interest in education and has helped a number of Christian institutions in effective search for their new Head of School. His non-profit clients include World Vision, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, Wheaton College, and Calvin College.

Joshua also helped build The Center for Leadership at Franciscan University of Steubenville where he currently serves as a vocation coach and vocation coach trainer for faculty and staff of the institution.

In the fall of 2016, Joshua co-founded Inscape with Luke Burgis.
